Hi, I’m Tim Gray
With over 3 decades of AV and automation programming experience, and 10 years of teaching experience I have helped hundreds of AV and automation industry programmers hone their skills. I have been a speaker and instructor at the industry’s leading events like Infocomm, BICSI, and Crestron Masters.
Whether you’re a complete beginner starting out or a seasoned pro looking to refine your skills, My lessons are built to guide you step by step toward programming confidence.
What I have Done
I have been programming for well over 40 years as a DBA managing data and writing custom user interfaces for data management, and then as an Automation and AV programmer. I spent decades in both commercial and residential system programming, engineering and design covering Homes, Guest homes, Offices, Conference rooms, Executive Suites, to whole building control from medical, to education, to general commercial and beyond. I have code to this day still running buildings across the globe. I have the real world field experience. I then over the past decade worked as the leading Senior Technical Trainer for the largest automation equipment manufacturer to train and educate the customers to be able to accomplish their goals in programming systems for their customers.

Teaching Basics to get started
I design lessons around real-world tasks so that someone new can learn how to get started and hit the ground running and be effective while they expand their skillset.

Real world design and customer interaction
A lot of customers do not know anything about the technology, how to communicate to them clearly and get a clear understanding of their needs is a skillset that many programmers are missing.

Support Students
I’m here for your questions, struggles, and wins. Guiding you with feedback, encouragement, and support.
